First thing’s first: I love my job. But, Exercise and Fitness have not always come naturally to me! At school I was always shy, very skinny and being an identical twin, meant we always drew attention from others. Looking back, I can now appreciate that I did not enjoy team sports, did not like being stared at and never saw the importance or necessity of a fit and healthy lifestyle. From the age of 12, I loved horse-riding and went to lessons come wind, rain or shine!. This has inspired my Fit to Ride training program since I know from experience the benefit of improving your strength, fitness and core stability to enhance your riding technique!
I have definitely had times in my life when I have fallen off the fitness wagon (who hasn’t!) but what I’ve learned is that my life is a 100% better when I’m active. And this is what I want to nurture in you! – no matter what your fitness level, age, stage, lifestyle or however busy your life is, I know that the minute you make a commitment to fitness, you will be happier and healthier for it. After all, who ever said working out your daily stresses through a constructive and viable means never made you feel better?
Whatever the reason for your exercise rut and body blues, my job is to reintroduce you to a fitter and healthier version of you.
l retrained to become a Personal Trainer at the age of 30, after a career in Hotel and Restaurant Management. I feel that this has enhanced my qualities as a Fitness Professional, as my client care and empathy are exceptional. I am always there to listen to your troubles, who better to vent to than the person that you might sometimes say you hate . All qualifications are nationally accredited and are fully recognised by employers within the industry and the Register of Exercise Professionals.
Since I will be training you, I thought I might take a minute to share with you my training regime. Granted I work in fitness, and I teach classes as part of my profession, BUT, I still find the time and energy to work out in my own time. Believe me I have the same demons as you sat on my shoulder at times, you know what i’m talking about! (“just go home, your tired” “you’ve already taught a class today, why do you need to do any more?” “but it’s cold outside”, “it’s a nice summer evening, go and enjoy a nice cold glass of wine!”) Discipline, self-control and motivation are the key. I am the person to give this to you since I know where you are coming from!
